About Me
Hi, I'm Marlene Meagher, and I'm so glad you're here.
Music has been the center of my life for more than 40 years. I've had the privilege of teaching band, orchestra, general music, piano, and flute while working with students from elementary school through high school. Along the way, I've also performed professionally, presented workshops, adjudicated festivals, and served in leadership roles with music education organizations.
But my favorite place has always been the classroom.
Like most music directors, I spent countless hours creating lesson plans, organizing paperwork, designing activities, and searching for ways to keep students engaged while making my own job a little easier. Many of the resources you'll find here were developed out of that everyday music room experience and refined over years of teaching.
After retiring from public education, I created Music Teacher Central to continue supporting music educators everywhere. My goal is simple: provide practical, classroom-tested resources that save you time, reduce stress, and help your students succeed.
Whether you're a brand-new teacher setting up your first classroom or a veteran director looking for fresh ideas, I hope you'll find resources that make your teaching easier and more enjoyable.
Thank you for visiting Music Teacher Central. I'm honored to be a small part of your teaching journey,
and I hope you'll stop by often as new resources are added.
Happy Teaching!
Marlene Meagher
